The Rt. Rev. Dr. C. Tompkins Smith received his theological training in Orthodox under the Syrian Orthodox Church of Antioch and then under the American Orthodox Catholic Church, the First Western Rite Church of the Russian Orthodox Church. He was ordained in the American Orthodox Catholic Church and consecrated in 1963. Bishop Smith founded and maintained churches in Kansas City, Missouri before returning to St. Louis, Missouri. In 1989, he became affiliated with the American Episcopal Church and retains that Anglican affiliation up to the present time as Auxiliary Bishop of the American Anglican Convocation, St. Louis, Missouri.

Dr. Smith is a Homoeopathic Medical Doctor, registered to practice in the United Kingdom and throughout the European Union. He maintains medical clinics in the Bahamas and in Mexico.
