ACIC Clergy
John Whiting

Greetings to you all in the Name of our Dear Lord.

The Traditional Church of England (TCE) is one of the original Continuing Churches in this country. It was formed in February 1994 immediately after the promulgation of the Church of England's Measure to allow the ordination of women as "priests." It developed from the (much older) Movement for the Continuing Church of England (MCCE) founded by Fr L.J.Whiting, who was consecrated first Bishop of the TCE in December 1995 by Bps Donald Perschall, Pierre Meshew of the AAC and Adonija Sebununguri, retired Anglican Bishop of Kilgali, Central Africa.

The TCE exists to continue the witness of Classic Catholic Anglicanism and provides a spiritual home for any who wish to remain true to their faith and heritage but cannot, in conscience, do so within the Established Church with its liberal intepretation of Theology, morals and ethics.

We are a fully independent English Church within the worldwide Continuum with congregations throughout England, Wales and Scotland. We now have also, Episcopal Oversight of a Benedictine Community in Yaunde, Cameroon, West Africa consisting of five priests, four lay brothers and novices. 25 altogether in the Community.

We have a sister Church TCE(Australia) based near Perth, which is under the leadership of Bp John Keep, who, with Bp Michael Newman of England was consecrated in September 2003 by me, Bp Persson, and another bishop from the Anglican Church of India.

I sincerely hope we can forge a strong fellowship with you all. We must keep in touch and look forward to hearing from you from time to time.

Yours in Christ Jesus, our Lord,
±John.

(Archbishop John Whiting)
